There's a few things that ring in my mind. One is the ear infection, the other is my main hate for the general population.

I made my presence at Lake Louise on Christmas Day, which is the first time in more than a year that I've rode on the mountains. (aka since I've broken my self). It was a beautiful success. But then again, not so much.

I've found myself to be one of the most hopeless, drag-your-feet romantics lately. I don't even know why. I have a pretty good meaningful conversation with a girl, and I want to continue it. That's ( as much as I hold myself in a regard where i would just berate and reiterate what I just berated) not like me. I hope it means I'm growing up a bit. The fact that I've been drinking all night and can still vent all of this means a little. But not much.

I hope to make my case certain when I meet that beautiful girl that steals my black heart and makes it red again.

Well, I finally decided to splurge a bit and purchase a new computer. (I justify the purchase by telling myself if raises the health of my sanity).

Really though, I've just spent the last month in the middle of nowhere (Kakwa Wildland in Alberta) lifting heavy things and raping the environment (It's my job to).

So really, other than that, I went to the Calgary Stampede last weekend, and it was exactly as I expected. Too many pedestrian half-wits, and a whole buncha cowboys and bikers. But for some reason, I did meet a bunch of Irish folk, and travel in a limo, and have a hot-tub party until 6am. But that's nothing out of the ordinary, my expectations can not be exceeded anymore. I find myself quite bored with life, so what it comes down to now, is travel travel travel. Florida in October, Vegas (30th birthdays round 2) in January, and either Europe, Australia, or Thailand in the Spring. If I'm going to have nothing to show for my money, I may as well do it in style.

After embarking on a Vancouver/Pacific coast adventure, I'm starting to see how invincible I am NOT.

My body is just in shambles after a weekend with way too little sleep, and way too much alcohol/hot dogs. Mind you, I got to actually see a tonne of awesome stuff; Whistler, Sunshine Coast, all of Vancouver, and some friends I haven't seen in way way too long.

I do however, not ever want to sleep in a car ever again.

I think I'm going to embark on a new journey. I downloaded the first season of Dexter, I've heard nothing but good things. But people also coined "The Hangover" as the funniest movie ever. So I am hard pressed to believe that this will end well.

It's that time again.

MLB's opening week.

I have very dismal expectations for the Mets this year, however. I guess we'll see. This whole Mountain Time zone + baseball deal is great. Baseball from 11am right until midnight. I'm in heaven.

My shoulder is healed, I'm back to work. And I've never been more happy about it.

Time to make some plans for some Toronto/East coast trips. lets do this thing.

I'm always doing things that are, well, not the smartest, to say the least. Always on an adventure, on an idea that floated around for barely 5 minutes before we leave.

Yeah yeah, I'm going somewhere with this.

Saturday morning, Carson came home from work. We had both never been in the mountains north of Lake Louise or Banff before (other than for work really). So we decide it was a good idea to make the 7 hour drive to Jasper, Alberta. 7 hours, that we had initially calculated out to be 3 or 4. (whoops). Anyways, it was all pretty lackluster, until today. Where we made the drive from Jasper, to Banff. So anyways, I took some pictures with my Blackberry at pretty random points, but needless to say, most of that 300km highway was pretty beautiful, although I am now sick of mountains. This is the location of the drive:

SO. Really, this just cost a lot of money for very little gain. Jasper turned out to be a hole, and was probably one of the most uninteresting places I've ever been (and I've been to a LOT of uninteresting places). Drive was cool, but way too long. And now my weekend is over. Great choices all around.

This band came up (this was 2006) and my fuck did I ever just fall head over heels for this album. The Kooks were only around 15 years old when they wrote most of this album, which is just incredible. Take it away.

Okay, this was (for me) the absolute most ridiculous day of the weekend. Between dance parties in the elevators with Asian Bachlorette parties, and swimming in a pool in my underwear in front of 100's of people watching Sunday football, there was no dull moment. Again, lets do this

So, the day started off by waking up semi early after getting in around 8am. Instead of letting my hangover defeat me, I decided to get right back on the horse. So I grabbed the bottle of Jack Daniels that was sitting on our TV stand, and put a beer box on my head, and went to town. Hello 10am!

And then, Joey Jeremiah and crew went down to the Westgate Towers bar, and began drinking Caesars.

So yes, getting onto Saturday. We all just woke up, not showering. And we began another adventure in this city that raped me. Follow me!

So, on our leisurely walk over to Bally's Hotel and Casino, I managed to find these guys. Mickey wouldn't hi-five me, so Elmo gave him an earful, as stated in picture below.

We made it to the price as right, began double fisting, and let the good times roll.

And this is where I went for more drinks, I assume.

Yes! Did you see that, we made it over to the MGM Grand Casino with all intentions of going buck wild at Studio 54 night club. So I had thrown out these passes that were given to us for reduced admission, and then Albert and I went to get new ones. We passed by a blackjack table and looked at eachother and said "yeahhhhh one hand." This was probably 10pm. James found us at the table at around 3am and after that I don't remember a single tidbit.

Okay, so again, I am a dirty liar. I had full intentions to document my Vegas trip to the fullest extent. But, like every other situation where I say "I'm going to do this" I got too drunk instead.

AND another big hairy but(t), there are photos and videos, plenty of them! So here we go, I'm going to try and piece this together as good as I can and go from there:

So, this is what I have from Friday. The first picture is when I first got into the Planet Hollywood Tower. Just a fresh-faced youngster having his second drink off of the plane. No big deal.

And then it all went to hell

Contrary to popular belief we, in fact, DID leave the hotel room that night. Apparently none of us were in any shape to operate a camera. And a lot of money was lost. Damn you Akram and Michael Irving.

Anyways, yes, I got in around 9am Saturday morning. (I just remember looking at my phone and it was 8am and we were still at the blackjack tables) and slept for an hour. Round two, lets check it out in the next installment. Be gentle.

So while adapting to my life in Red Deer, Alberta while having a broken shoulder (before after) I have decided to make my way to beautiful Las Vegas. (We've actually been planning this for like 3 1/2 months for James Phillips 30th Birthday!). I'm going to document this trip by whatever photos I can. I can't promise much because my lack of willpower will make this trip a blur as soon as I set foot on the plane on Friday morning. I couldn't imagine a better group of people to be going with, or a more disastrous one, at that. I'll leave it at this for now, Happy Birthday Jimmy, I'll see you Friday!
